COOKIE POLICY

SOFTBOUND

Version 1 – March 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow a website to recognise you on a subsequent visit, remember your preferences and function correctly.

There are different types of cookies: some are strictly necessary for the website to function, while others are only placed with your consent.

2. Which cookies do we use?

Softbound uses the following categories of cookies:

Necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the correct functioning of the webshop and cannot be disabled. They do not require consent.

  • Combell WebBuilder (session cookie) – keeps track of your shopping cart and login session. Disappears automatically when you close your browser.

  • Stripe – places technical cookies for fraud prevention and secure payment processing. Session-related.

Functional cookies

These cookies remember your preferences (e.g. language and regional settings) to provide a better experience on your next visit. Retention period: up to 1 year. Consent required.

Performance cookies

These cookies collect anonymous data about how visitors use our website, so we can improve its functionality and content. Retention period: up to 13 months. Consent required.

Marketing cookies

We currently do not use any marketing cookies from external advertising parties such as Google Ads or Meta. Should this change in the future, this cookie policy will be updated before use.

3. Third-party cookies

Stripe, our payment provider, may place technical cookies that are necessary for the secure processing of payments. These cookies are subject to Stripe's privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy.

Stripe may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), but has the necessary safeguards in place (Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

4. Your consent and cookie preferences

When you first visit our website, a cookie banner will be displayed. Through this banner, you can:

  • accept all cookies

  • accept necessary cookies only

  • choose per category which cookies you allow via the advanced options

You can change your preferences at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of the website. Necessary cookies cannot be disabled, as the website would otherwise not function correctly.

5. Refusing or deleting cookies via your browser

In addition to the cookie banner on our website, you can also manage cookies via your browser settings:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies

  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security

  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy

  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Please note: disabling certain cookies may affect the functioning of the webshop (e.g. shopping cart, checkout).

6. Relation to our privacy policy

Some cookies process personal data. For more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to our privacy policy, available at: www.softbound.be/privacy-policy.

7. Changes to this cookie policy

We reserve the right to amend this cookie policy, for example when we introduce new tools or services. The most recent version is always available on our website. In the event of significant changes, we will inform you via the cookie banner or a notice on the website.
